Freestyle Schedule

Summer Camp 2008

High Freestyle

This class will instruct the skater in spins from all of the freestyle levels, and continue to work on improvement in single jumps as well as introduce the axel.  This class will also spend time on moves in the field and improving the skater’s power and technique.

Saturday 11:10-11:40

 Jump and Spin Class

For skaters Freestyle 2 and higher who are looking for additional lesson time working on jumps and spins.  Part of the class does emphasize power, edge, and moves exercises.

Wednesday 5:25– 5:55pm

 

Specialty Classes Offered

 Power Skating

This class will be an intense cardio workout, made to focus on building a skater’s speed and endurance. This class will include moves in the field, and edge work along with a concentration on building the skater’s strength, and flexibility.  

 Off-ice Classes  

Off Ice Training

This class will be taught off the ice but will focus on techniques that skater’s use on the ice.  Off ice training is an integral part of skating for the strength, flexibility, and  coordination it builds for your on ice skills.  This class will teach techniques used for jumping and spinning off the ice and will allow your child to practice more at home when you can’t get to the rink.

Ballet

Ballet is important for your developing figure skater because along with a flexibility that is unique to ballet it also helps your skater understand how to move along with music.  Ballet also helps with positioning, and movement on the ice.
